I think a typical installer would do a good job, and most installers won't set up your car so they can jack it later, or even take advantage of their knowledge of your car's alarm system. One other situation I see often is that some friend of the installer or someone who often hangs out at the car stereo/alarm shop tends to wander freely through the place, and is able to see whatever is going on. Larger shops may keep people out of the install bay and outside areas, but I was refering to smaller shops. If you install it yourself only you knows where every part is located. Whenever an alarm is installed the installer usually puts the brain up under the driver's side dash. It's easy to find because some of the wires are twisted around each other, and wires going to the ignition obviously aren't factory. Just my opinion... John
